sub-pic (subpic.net) turns the link of a public Reddit post into an image. It's run by Nikola Mitić, an individual in Serbia, who is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: info@subpic.net.
In short: there are no accounts, cookies, ads or tracking, and sub-pic keeps as little as it can, for as short a time as it can.
What we process and why
- The link you paste and the options you pick. We use them to load the post and draw your image. We don't keep a history of links or images.
- Reddit content. To draw an image we load the post, its comments and its community through Reddit's official API. This content includes Reddit usernames. It's kept only in a temporary cache, for 6 hours by default and never longer than 48 hours, and never in a database, logs or analytics. Until Reddit approves our API access, the site only shows made-up example posts.
- Your image. It's drawn when you ask for it and sent only to you. We don't store or publish it, and there's no public gallery.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and browser details with each request and keeps them in short-lived logs, for security and to keep the site running. To stop abuse, we may keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for a few minutes to limit the number of requests.
- Emails you send us. We use your address and message only to reply, and delete them when they're no longer needed.
We rely on our legitimate interest in running a safe, working service and in answering the people who write to us.
Cookies
sub-pic doesn't set cookies or use trackers or ads. If we ever add visitor statistics, they'll be cookieless and won't include post content, and we'll update this policy first.
Who else processes data
- Vercel Inc. (USA) hosts the site and its request logs.
- Reddit, Inc. provides post content through its API. Reddit's own privacy policy applies on Reddit.
We don't sell, rent or share personal data, and we never use Reddit content to train AI models. Some providers are outside Serbia and the EU and process data under their data processing terms.
People who appear in Reddit posts
sub-pic only shows public content, exactly as it is on Reddit. When you delete a post or comment on Reddit, it disappears from sub-pic within 48 hours. To have it removed sooner, email us the link and we'll clear it from our cache. Images people have already downloaded are in their hands, not ours.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Serbia's Law on Personal Data Protection you can ask to access, correct or delete your data and object to how we use it. sub-pic keeps almost nothing about visitors, but write to us and we'll answer within one month. You can also complain to Serbia's Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
sub-pic isn't meant for children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. See also our Terms of Use.
